Analyzing and Tracking finds
For some CRHers it’s fun to keep track of what you find, where you found it, and when it was found. Personally, I’m not a big tracker so how accurate this next section is might be called into question BUT I’m going to make a stab at it.
- Notebooks - The paper and pencil method. If your computer skills are a little lacking then this might be your best option. There’s any number of ways you could organize your notebook, basically whatever works best for you.
- Software - A step up from the Notebook method would be to use a piece of software like a spreadsheet of possibly a databse. You’ll have to format it yourself because I don’t know of any already made apps that are designed for CRHers
- Online Journals - If you want to announce your finds to the world you might think about making an online journal. There are several free services out there which you could use. One you’ve heard of is Blogger (owned by Google), I’m not going to knock it BUT I would suggest something which will give you a little more creative control and bring up WordPress. Take a look at WordPress.com.
I think I’ve covered everything that I know about coin roll hunting (other than specific denominational information) in this and the Basic Overview articles. I’m sure that you’ll figure things out that I haven’t covered. This is because I don’t know it. This is where you can help both me but more importantly the CRH community. Login to the website and leave us a comment telling us about what you’ve learned.

I have read them all, twice.. and really enjoy them. It has given me more and better idea's, than in the past 12 yrs' i have detected.
I thank you very much for all the info'
MANY-THANKS;;;
I enjoyed reading the articles and it is all pretty much common sense, but I do have one concern…you will not find long term CRHer's putting their documented finds on the internet with their actual names…like on facebook or such sites..on it..Why?
Let's say you have a phenomenal hunt and you find 20 90% sliver halves in a $500 box of halves. So you brag…people see the brag…criminals see the brag…realize…hey, they got a bunch of silver coins! and they keep a lot of coins at their place…have your id and one night you come home and your place is burglarized….who's fault is it? the bragger or the criminal??
Don't set yourself up to where you can easily be taken advantage of! Just be careful…I always am.
